Testimonies from Tenderloin Outreach

Here are some testimonies from Ben Rowden (UC Raven SLO team) of what he saw the Lord do in the Tenderloin on Saturday.

Towards the end of the outreach when we were getting ready to go home I met David. He had recently left the people he was living with (I think they were related) with money to buy some food and he ended up spending it on crack. He told me that he wanted to be free of his addiction but he had repented so many times and always fell back into his sin. I told David some scripture and he ended up repenting. I gave him my number and he gave me a number to reach him at so that I could keep him accountable.

I met Holuna in the square where we had the outreach. She was a born again Christian, and told me that it was tough on the streets because there was a lot of spiritual warfare that she was having to go through. She also said that every time someone comes and does an outreach it is such an encouragement to her. She was feeling weak and tired but us being there lifted her spirit and I was able to pray for her and share some scripture with her, that we are more than conquerers over Satan. Jesus has overcome.

A few people and I walked down the street to find a bathroom and ended up at a Carl's Jr. where I met Jordan. We started talking and I took him to the gospel. He said that he had been saved many years ago, but that he had been addicted to drugs for awhile and had started drinking. I told him "you know, you could be spreading the gospel too" and he was hit hard. He said "you're right, there is no reason that I couldn't" and he asked me to pray for him. He repented and was just joyous. It was awesome to see his eyes opened to Jesus right then and there. I gave him a bible and a western bacon cheeseburger and then noticed he had a limp. I asked him "do you believe that God can heal your hip?" and he said "yes" so I prayed for him and God healed his hip. So he walked away without the limp, having been healed both physically and spiritually, as well as having received both physical and spiritual food. Jesus took care of Jordan that day.
